AVID Technology (00100810701) Avid Liquid Vs 7 Software
Customer Review: A Real Bomb
As a former Pinnacle liquid edition user, I thought that the much touted Avid upgrade would add wonders to my video editing capability. Instead I got a product the won't burn a DVD, works only if you upgrade your video card and audio card driver, and gets ZERO support from the company. The support site is designed to return canned answers to a question which 9 times out of ten don't cover the issue. You get ONE free phone call if you want to talk to a product specialist. The program won't load on a windows XP system unless you first download a patch from the Avid web site so XP will recognize the DVD the software is shipped with. Next you need to download Avid Liquid Service Pack 1 to correct video display problems. Then, if you actually use it, you'll find that the DVD authoring software won't work (not just for me -- go to Avid forums on the Avid web site, select Avid Liquid 7 & 7 Pro, and look at the number of people who can't get the software to burn a DVD). There'a a real bunch of die-hard Avid fans that say, 'Oh, I just use my version 6.1 to burn the final job.' But, if you don't have Avid 6.1, and never did, you've hit a brick wall. The Forum posts messages from the company saying that they are fully aware of the DVD burning problem, but no fix has come out yet. Maybe they'll develop one you have to buy to solve the problem. Wouldn't that be wonderful? DON'T, DON'T, DON'T buy this software - it's a disaster. Click Here For More Info
